Public Relations Manager

Digital Lumens is creating Intelligent Lighting Systems which save our customers a tremendous amount of energy.  We are looking for an energetic, results-oriented Corporate Communications Manager to join this growing clean-tech company.

With responsibility for building and maintaining press and analyst relationships, developing communications materials, and some web site and social media work, the successful candidate will be a strong all-around communicator who collaborates well across all levels of an organization to accomplish what needs to be done.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Securing coverage in key national, local and vertical industry media outlets;
  • Developing and managing strong external relationships (industry/vertical/business press and key industry analysts);
  • Creating and distributing key materials (press releases and advisories, customer announcements, and other supporting materials) that are needed to tell the company’s story to the outside world;
  • Generating and executing creative program ideas to enhance success;
  • Developing customer- and partner-communication materials;
  • Updating the company’s web site;
  • Supporting social media programs as directed; and
  • Providing monthly metrics reporting regarding Communications programs

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience working in highly successful marketing communications role, preferably with some agency experience;
  • Strong media relations skills and network of media and analyst relationships;
  • Track record of media success;
  • The ability to understand and translate the company’s story into viable pitch ideas;
  • The ability to come up with and deliver creative programs that enhance the company’s strategic objectives;
  • Experience working on programs integrating both traditional and social/digital media elements;
  • Proven ability to learn new industry and technology;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (portfolio of writing samples);
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English or Business preferred; and
  • Prior experience in start-up or emerging technology companies.
