Rainier Communications is seeking a U.S. Business Development Manager. The U.S. Business Development manager must possess the ability to contribute to the growth of the agency by taking a proactive role in discovering and pursuing new business opportunities. This role requires acutely developed networking, sales, communication, presentation and negotiation skills. In addition, this person must be a self-motivated, strategic thinker experienced in measuring all aspects of the new business development sales cycle, including win/loss analysis. They must be committed to continuous improvement and expanding their leadership skills and possess the ability to develop and build consensus on ideas and concepts.

 

Responsibilities: Specific day-to-day description of the job

  • Lead generation, qualification, proposal development and sales presentations.
  • Develop and execute on sales plan to achieve aggressive sales goals.
  • Support business objectives to retain accounts and identify growth opportunities within accounts
  • Provide market feedback to company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate business development ideas.
  • Preparing agency executives and account teams for prospect meetings
  • Work with account teams to facilitate start-up activities for new clients
  • Personally pursue and close key sales opportunities and manage the sales process.
  • Work with internal teams to pursue key prospects.
  • Ensure sales offerings are closely coordinated and in alignment with internal client service offerings.

 

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in public relations, communications or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years in a sales and/or new business development function
  • Knowledge of associations, agencies and related service industry professions
  • B2B technology and/or software experience required
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other MS software applications
  • Outstanding organization, communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, to include networking, cold calling, group/individual presentations and contract negotiation
  • Works well independently
  • Proven track record for converting qualified sales leads into sales
  • Ability to travel locally and out of town for business related sales and meetings.
