I get asked by friends and colleagues all the time, “What’s better, working in-house or at an agency?”  The answer is both.  Like any situation, there are pros and cons to each – and I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to be on both sides of the debate (a couple times now!).  Having said that, let’s dive in!

During this week’s Pub Club Board meeting, I heard about the month-long special series NPR is doing on the PR industry and the influence it has on businesses and the media.  Dubbed “The Message Makers: Inside PR,” the series has already covered two very different, yet interesting case studies: “BP: A Textbook Example of How Not to Handle PR” and “PR’s ‘Gay Guru’ Helps Celebrities Come Out.”  Immediately, my attention was drawn to this series for a couple reasons.

8,000 – That’s the number of media that will cover the Royal Wedding later this week.  Just imagine the planning and logistics happening right now to keep 8,000 media chuffed (that’s British slang for “happy”).
