First Impressions: Tips for building strong relationships with new clients

If you’re starting off 2012 with a new client, here are five tips to help you win the client over, quickly.

  1. READ:  Prior to your first meeting, read, read, read: about the company, about the industry, about competitors. 
  2. ASK:  Develop a list of strong questions that will help you better understand the client, his/her company and the PR goals at hand. Ask about their business goals and marketing goals – in addition to their PR goals, so everything is in context.
