This is the first official blog post of our 2009-2010 programming season and I am both honored and excited to be the author.
While the last season was a celebration of our past, with anniversary milestones achieved for both our club and our Bell Ringer Award Ceremony, this year is promising to be a celebration of our future - both for our club and the PR industry. We are going to see our share of changes and firsts this year, and I'm pleased to share some of the notable early updates.
Co-Executive Directors
Our club is driven by dedicated volunteers who chair our Board of Directors and pull together our programming each month. But as many of our members know, we also have a secret weapon.
Kelly Woodsum, our Executive Director for the past several years, is the quintessential ambassador of Pub Club. Her dedication and institutional knowledge, not to mention her own professional PR experience, have made her the anchor of our team. Based on the birth dates of her two boys, I have come to believe she even plans her biological clock around the Bell Ringer Awards.
We are extremely pleased to introduce Katie Sullivan as our Co-Executive Director for the coming season. Like Kelly, Katie has an impressive resume in PR, most recently as PR Manager at Staples. Also like Kelly, Katie has been a Board member for many years with the club and will now transfer that experience to an even more hands-on role supporting our season. Katie will also be a catalyst for many of our online initiatives kicking off this year.
Please make room in your in-boxes for both Kelly@pubclub.org and Katie@pubclub.org
Pub Club Member Communications Enters the Blogosphere
In an effort to get with the times, we are going to spin our newsletter, The Bellringer, on its handle and feature our monthly newsletter in Blog format. As this is the inaugural entry, you can expect to see many of your old favorites, like Program Recaps and In the Spotlight, as well as some new gems. We'll continue to send updates via email but you'll find our content more regularly updated here. It's also a work in progress, and we hope our members will share feedback as we toddle our way through the first year.
