Rainier Communications is seeking a Senior Account Manager. This person is a leader with proven capabilities to manage staff and direct client activities. They will be responsible for all facets of client activities, including planning, strategy, execution, and measurement of our clients’ public relations efforts. Intimate knowledge of traditional and social media is critical, as is a demonstrated ability to successfully capture the attention of analysts and media. As a creative, proactive, out-of-the-box thinker, this person needs to strive for excellence while seeking continuous improvement in everything they do. They should be able to identify issues before they become problems and possess the ability to build consensus for their ideas.

Responsibilities: Specific day-to-day description of the job

  • Plan, develop and execute best-in-class analyst and media relations programs designed to achieve client business objectives
  • Provide clients with strategic counsel on PR and related marketing matters
  • Proactively monitor client-relevant industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Manage staff as appropriate
  • Develop statements of work and manage clients to defined budgets
  • Develop and execute on strategic annual plans that positively position clients and are aligned to defined business objectives
  • Proactively identify issues and communicate necessary steps to avoid having them escalate to major problems
  • Measure all aspects of clients plan and submit timely reports that demonstrate the return on investment and Rainier value
  • Participate in new business opportunities as necessary
  • Stay current on new media trends and implement appropriate strategies and tactics, if necessary, to meet clients’ business objectives
  • Identify and successfully pitch opportunities to provide clients with additional Rainier services
  • Develop strategic plans for tactical level activities (news release, media tours, campaigns) that contain SMART objectives
  • Effectively manage day-to-day activities and maintain a high level of communication with client to ensure success implementation

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in public relations, communications or related field
  • 10+ years of public relations experience in corporate and/or agency environment
  • Demonstrable results in traditional (print and electronic) and social media
  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • B2B technology and/or software experience preferred
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other MS software applications
