Tuesday, September 13th officially marks my start as the Pub Club’s VP Programs and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been involved with the Club for three years now, but am thrilled and honored to serve on the Board of Directors.
I met most of the new board members a few weeks ago at our Rooftop@Revere social and can already tell it’s going to be a great year.
To kick things off, we have two confirmed programs so far this year. Our first program is our third annual speed pitching event, which is being held at PAN Communications on Tuesday, September 20th from 6-8 p.m. Since Boston is booming with healthcare/biotech companies, we thought we’d switch gears a bit and gather the top healthcare reporters. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with:
- Jamie Ducharme, Health Editor, Boston Magazine
- Anne Mostue, Anchor, Bloomberg Business Radio
- Jessica Bartlett, Reporter, Boston Business Journal
And our next program, which is scheduled for Thursday, October 20th (location TBD), focuses on the ever-so-timely topic, politics and the media. This program, which we are hosting with PRSA Boston, is sure to bring in over 100 people, and will cover one of the nation’s most talked about election cycles in history and how the media has been portraying both parties. And since the program is held the night after the Presidential Debate, I’m sure the following panelists won’t run out of things to say:
- Shira Center, Political Reporter, Boston Globe
- Steve Koczela, President, MassINC
- Lauren Dezenski, Reporter, POLITICO
- John Carroll, Assistant Professor, Boston University (Moderator)
And let’s not forget our annual holiday party with the PRSA Boston, which will be held on Wednesday, December 7th from 6-8 p.m. at The Tap Trailhouse.
Here’s to a great 2016-2017 Pub Club year!
