Where do you work and what is your title?
I work at Hollywood Public Relations and I’m a senior account executive.
What is your Twitter handle?
Briefly summarize your background.
When I first started working in PR, I worked with consumer outdoor and footwear brands mostly. When I made my way into Boston, I worked at Cone, where I worked in the Brand Communications group and during my time there, worked on most of their food accounts. I dipped my foot into the tech scene at InkHouse and now I’m back to my roots doing consumer PR for some wonderful clients at HPR.
What kind of industry/clients do you work with?
Right now I work on a variety of clients from juvenile products, to a bank, a luggage company and even a nonprofit organization.
Describe what you do for Pub Club.
I’m new to the Pub Club this year! I help out with social media where needed. When you see those posts promoting events and articles on Twitter and Facebook, that could be me!
Name your top three favorite things about PR.
I love making relationships with the media and especially meeting with them on desksides and media events. Making those real face to face connections is so valuable. I also love making my clients happy, which may seem like a no-brainer but it really makes me feel accomplished at the end of a busy day. As long as my clients are happy, I’m happy. And finally, getting that PERFECT media hit where everything is perfect and the client couldn’t be more pleased. That’s the ultimate.
Do you have a childhood moment when everyone knew you’d be a communications specialist?
I don’t have one from when I was a kid, but when I was in college I knew I wanted to work in communications in some form or another. In my media class, we learned all aspects of communications and when we learned about public relations I knew that’s what I was meant to do. I’ll never forget my professor from my first PR course. As soon as everyone sat down, she said, “If you think PR is drinking in the back of P Diddy’s limo, then you are so wrong.” One kid walked out. It was so funny and always stays with me till this day.
What is your top getaway destination?
I love to travel. This year has brought me to Dubai and Paris. But anyone who knows me, knows my ultimate getaway destination is Walt Disney World. I’m a complete Disneyphile and I don’t care who knows it. My husband and I go every year (sometimes twice a year). Besides the fact of being completely enamored with it, the communicator in me admires Disney’s dedication to their marketing and branding strategies and all of their big ideas.
If you could take a client to any restaurant in Boston where would you go?
I would take them to Legal Harborside or DelFrisco’s in the Seaport. I love that neighborhood and both locations are great for the view and the fare.
